Text Box: Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This has been a summer I won’t soon forget. Most summers at Holy Trinity are predictable and pacific. This summer has been one filled with grief, sadness, and more than just a little depression for many within our parish family … and for your rector.

This summer has seen many folks hospitalized for mental and physical health concerns and we have commended too many of our faith community to God, and

I know, and knew when I entered the priesthood that ministering to the sick and dying would be one of my roles and I had been well prepared for this in my many years as a hospital chaplain. Over the past few years I have been invited into those most holy moments when one of our own has entered the nearer presence of our Lord. This has never been easy and one might think that I would have grown accustomed to it by now.

In fact, the opposite is true. It was far easier to

Text Box:  what my church is like.”  If someone asks what your church does, tell them “My church does what I do.”  Remember, you may well be the only authentic contact someone has with Jesus Christ because they will not come to church but you can bring the church to them.
