Trinity Sunday
Continued from page 1
Text Box: If our history together is any sign of what our future holds, then we are in a good place. With unity of spirit, a holy union of personalities, and directed by God’s call, I feel the future looks bright. On this Trinity Sunday let us not forget to give thanks for those saints who have gone before us who, especially when times were tough, played important roles in this day’s coming. On this festival day, I congratulate and thank each and every one of you who has made Holy Trinity the Diocese of Maryland’s newest success story. May God bless and keep you always. I am …

     Your Servant in Christ, Eric+
Text Box: was to achieve separate congregation status. In seven years, God has allowed us to achieve what many congregations have not been able to do in one hundred years.

The key to our success has been Spirit-led, dedicated lay leadership and participation. The union of various talents, dreams, desires, gifts and the love of God in Christ Jesus has empowered this “tiny church in the woods” to become one of the larger congregations in the region. Our personalities have blended well in a unity of purpose that while maintaining our individuality, allows us to live, work and worship for the good of our community and the Glory of God. This is definitely a result of the Holy Spirit’s ability to empower us for the work of ministry.

Text Box: Now that we have achieved the dream of becoming a separate congregation, it is not time to rest on our laurels. I believe God still has big things in store for us. As we look at our growing congregation there are many things we can and should do. For now, we need to continue to be the church whose mission of hospitality attracts those seeking a church home. Also, each member of the Vestry has an important leadership role to play. It is our prayer that God will allow them to work with each of us to discern our several callings so that we may take our rightful place in this church’s mission and ministry. We are the Church and we have a purpose and a mission in this place and at this moment in time. I pray the Good Shepherd will continue to call and guide us to the next pasture where we may continue to do the work he has given us to do.
